When connecting three or more solar panels in parallel, it’s recommended to install a 10 or 15-amp inline fuse on the positive wire of each panel. If a panel fails or shorts out, the fuse will blow, isolating the faulty panel and preventing current from the other panels from flowing into it. This protects the damaged panel from overheating and safeguards the remaining panels from excessive current. For easy installation, an MC4 inline fuse holder can be plugged directly into an MC4 T-branch connector. These fuse holders are readily available on Amazon and other retailers.
